New York Architecture Images- Spite House

Richardson’s famous “Spite House,” 5 feet wide, 100 feet long, at Eighty-second Street and Lexington Avenue. Erected in 1882 to “spite” the owner of adjoining flat-houses on Eighty-second Street who refused to pay Richardson his price for the narrow strip of land on the corner.
