Lately, I have been interested in geology. I have found out how almost all of our knowledge about the history of Earth is the result of a very careful and patient research into the patterns found in stones.
The same patterns that you disinterestedly look at, but do not see, surrounding you on the walls of the hotel crapper, in the floor of the mall, on the exterior of the store selling tacky jewelry… If you for once looked at them seriously, for what they are, and not for the status they represent, would tell you the story of the earth, of continents, of ancient mountain ranges, of molecules and crystals, of the universe…
