New Scientist reports of an invention that may have large implications to our profession as designers.
Researches from UCLA have developed a software that finds an optimal arrangement of given furniture for a given room.
Sadly, they don’t seem to be giving us a chance to try it. I bet they realize there may be a lot of money in automated design!
It think it won’t be long before someone adapts this methodology for designing a building out of a given program on a given site.
That would put a lot of us out of profession.
And that would not necessarily be a bad thing for the rest of the world!
